Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority: We are keen to open new horizons for cooperation and consolidate relations with South Korea

The Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabie, affirmed the Suez Canal Authority’s keenness to open new horizons for cooperation and contribute to the consolidation of bilateral relations between Egypt and South Korea on the economic and commercial levels, pointing to the efforts of the Suez Canal to make the expected cooperation successful to build environmentally friendly auxiliary marine units to work for the benefit of… The Authority, in addition to building a natural gas supply station and converting some of the Authority’s ferries and marine units to operate with natural gas, is in line with the Authority’s direction to declare the Suez Canal the “Green Canal.” It contributes to transferring advanced technology for building environmentally friendly marine units to the authority’s arsenals and companies through its contribution to the construction process in partnership with the Korean side. 

 

The Suez Canal Authority stated – in a statement Today, Friday – this came during a meeting between the Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Jeong In-kyu, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea, to discuss ways to strengthen future cooperation in areas of common interest, in the presence of Ambassador Khaled Abdel Rahman, the Egyptian Ambassador to South Korea, and Ambassador Kim Young-Hyun, Ambassador. For his part, Jeong In-kyu expressed his country’s aspiration to study possible aspects of cooperation with the Suez Canal Authority because of the great strategic importance it represents for South Korea’s foreign and internal trade and traffic.
