Russia accused of making biological weapons based on monkeypox

The British tabloid Mirror newspaper accused Russia of spreading monkeypox.

The authors of the article noted that the Russian Federation considered, the possibility of using monkeypox as a biological weapon.

The article refers to the ex-colonel of the Soviet Army, microbiologist Kanachan Alibekov.

Alibekov claimed ongoing experiments with monkeypox. The microbiologist also noted that work on creating biological weapons in Russia did not stop.

The World Health Organization had earlier confirmed that there are 92 confirmed cases of monkeypox infection in the world, and another 28 people are suspected of this disease. Information about infected persons was transmitted from 12 non-endemic countries.
