Turkish state company Turkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakligi (TPAO) will drill for oil for five years near the border with Syria. Star newspaper writes about it.

Star newspaper pointed out that “Tabao obtained a license to explore for oil for a period of 5 years on an area of ​​12.62 hectares in the provinces of Mardin and Şırnak.”

Indigo Grup Turizm ve Ticaret AŞ also obtained an oil exploration license for the same period.
The field is located in Nevsehir and covers an area of ​​30,153 thousand hectares.

TRAO was established in 1954. Its responsibilities include exploration, drilling, production, processing and marketing of hydrocarbons.

The company, as an important participant in the Turkish economy, has achieved high results in the country’s oil industry.

In mid-May, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Karen Donfried, said Europe would begin phasing out Russian oil in the coming weeks.
