Kuwait raises minimum military service age from 28 to 30 years

Kuwait raises minimum military service age from 28 to 30 years –

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, issued a decision to raise the minimum age at which the Kuwaiti army can apply for service by two years, from 28 to 30 years.

According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, the decision aims to allow the majority of the Kuwaiti people to serve their country, as well as to achieve justice and equality in the policies and conditions of admission to all military and security colleges in the country.

The statement indicated that the increase in the maximum age came in light of the “exceptional circumstances” that Kuwait experienced as a result of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and related restrictions that prevented many Kuwaitis from being drafted into the army.
