Labor announces the completion of the first phase of the project to integrate gender into work

The Ministry of Labor said that the Labor Directorate in Menoufia Governorate has completed the implementation of the first phase of the program to support rural women in the governorate, and the conclusion of free training courses on embroidery and furniture-making professions, within the framework of implementing " A project to support and integrate gender in the field of work. This is in coordination and supervision with the Ministry’s General Department of Women and Children Affairs, headed by Dr. Sherine Abdel-Hay, Director General of the Administration, and within the framework of the Ministry of Labor’s keenness to empower women economically and enhance their participation in the labor market within Menoufia Governorate, and out of belief in the role of women in advancing society.

 

100 were graduated. A woman trained in the aforementioned professions. The project aims to train in order to empower women economically by developing their abilities and giving them the technical skills necessary to join the labor market and increasing their participation as an effective member of society, through holding training courses and educational seminars and making medical convoys to inspect the trainees, treat them free of charge, and protect them. And raise their awareness within the work environment, and also start free training courses for women for the first time in the governorate, in the following professions: handmade taft making, embroidery art, arcade art, furniture making, handmade carpets, detailing and sewing.

 

 

 

 

Saad Abdel Hamid, Director of the Menoufia Labor Directorate, explained in his report to the Ministry that this project comes in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Labor, Hassan Shehata, to pay attention to empowering women economically and intensifying free vocational training programs in the professions that the labor market needs to qualify them and develop their skills and abilities to obtain a decent job opportunity. Or start a small project that contributes to improving their living standards, especially in the villages most in need.

 

The Director of the Directorate added that Imad Saeed, Deputy Director of the Directorate, participated in the activities, and with the efforts of Christina Ibrahim, Director of the Welfare Department and responsible The unity of women and children, and the coordination of Iman Abu Ali, who supervises the center, stressing that women are partners in development and makers of change and development in society.
