"Positive spirit" Dubai Police wins the Arab Federation Award for Sports Culture

Dubai, April 22 / WAM / The Dubai Police “Positive Spirit” initiative won the Arab Federation for Sports Culture Award, in the “Youth Initiative for the Year 2023” category.

His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, handed over the award to His Excellency Saleh Al-Saadi, Deputy UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, on behalf of Dubai Police, during the International Conference (Move Week) hosted by Cairo, in the presence of Dr. Mogans Krekby, President of the International Federation for Sports Culture, Faisal Ghassal, Minister Plenipotentiary, Director of the Sports Department of the League of Arab States, and a number of Arab ambassadors, sports experts, and media professionals.

Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, confirmed that winning this award reflects the great importance and distinction that the “Positive Spirit” initiative has reached in reaching various segments of society, and working to organize various events that contribute to strengthening communication between Dubai Police. And members of society, and make sport a lifestyle and a healthy lifestyle in every individual’s life.

He pointed out that the initiative, which was launched under the guidance of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police in 2017, succeeded over 7 years in reaching the largest possible segment of society, organizing sports and community events in cooperation with strategic partners, and providing community awareness of police and security work. This was reflected in the high level of confidence in the police and raising the level of community awareness.

For her part, Fatima Buhajir, Chair of the “Positive Spirit” Council, explained that the “Positive Spirit” initiative aims to improve the quality of life and enhance social harmony, in addition to consolidating several values, including tolerance and coexistence, noting that the initiative has achieved great successes over the past years and is working forward during The coming years will achieve more successes.

Buhajir explained that the Positive Spirit Initiative was able during the past year to organize 30 community sports events, 26 awareness programs, 15 courses and lectures, and 7 cultural competitions, benefiting 41,796 people, and achieving a community satisfaction rate that reached 96%.
