Feyenoord ready to conclude deal for Arne Slot to become Liverpool’s new manager – which could cost the Reds £13m and be finalised THIS weekend

Feyenoord are ready to conclude a deal for their manager Arne Slot to become Liverpool’s new boss within the next 48 hours.

Advanced talks between the two clubs will continue on Friday with the expectancy at the Dutch club that those discussions will reach a positive conclusion after the Dutchman publicly admitted his desire to join Liverpool on Thursday night.

Well-placed sources believe an agreement will be reached by the end of the weekend.

Feyenoord, as Mail Sport revealed earlier this week, want a minimum of £8.6million in compensation to release Slot from his contract.

The Dutch club are trying to force a deal that would see Liverpool pay in-excess of €10million (£8.58m) for their manager, a sum that would not include members of staff who would follow him to England.

Liverpool could reach an agreement to sign Arne Slot by the end of this weekend

The clubs are yet to reach an agreement on a fee for Slot, but sources insists a deal is not far away.

Slot wants to bring his assistant Sipke Hulshof with him to Anfield and possibly one more member of staff from Feyenoord – expected to be Head of performance, Ruben Peeters – which would see the total compensation package rise closer towards £13million.

However, Feyenoord do no want Slot to wipe out their entire backroom team when he moves to the Premier League and will stand firm on any attempt from Slot and Liverpool to bring multiple members of staff from the Dutch club to Merseyside.

Slot confirmed his intention to join Liverpool said on Thursday night before Feyenoord’s match at Go Ahead Eagles.
