The Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his happiness at his presence at the opening of the Women’s African Club Volleyball Championship, congratulating Al-Ahly Club on winning the African Volleyball Championship. Sobhi affirmed his full support for the Egyptian teams participating in the tournament, and his wishes for them to provide the best levels and achieve the desired results, Emphasizing the importance of this tournament in enhancing the status of women’s volleyball on the African continent.

During her speech, Bachri Hojeij, President of the African Volleyball Confederation, said: “On behalf of the African Volleyball Confederation, I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Al-Ahly Club.” “Who succeeded in organizing the men’s tournament in a way that achieved unparalleled success, and we have unlimited confidence in his abilities, heritage, and great history, and all the teams and delegations that participated in the tournament affirmed their confidence in the club’s organizational capabilities,” thanking the Egyptian Air Force Federation and everyone who contributed to the tournament. The President of the Confederation of African Volleyball indicated that the participation of 15 teams from several countries in the African Women’s Championship represents a great momentum, and that she expects strong competition in light of the fact that she is pregnant. The title will represent the continent of Africa in the World Club Championship.

For his part, Engineer Yasser Qamar, President of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation, stressed that the African Volleyball Championship “for men” It achieved great success, wishing it that the women’s tournament would achieve the same success as the men’s tournament, adding that the African Volleyball Confederation, headed by Bouchra Hajeij, had made great efforts so that the African Championships would regain their status and become eligible for the World Championships.

The President of the Federation directed Thanks to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, for his full support for all sports federations, and he also thanked Al-Ahly Club, and all those responsible for organizing this exceptional tournament, wishing it success.

After the end of the tournament’s opening ceremony, the Al-Ahly Club team faces its Nasiriyah counterpart. Chabab Bejaia from Algeria is the first match of the tournament, and after the Al-Ahly match, the Zamalek club team meets its Ivorian counterpart ASEC Mimosas.

It is noteworthy that the draw for the African Women’s Volleyball Championship resulted in Al-Ahly being at the head of the first group, which included the “Kenyan Prisons” teams. “Nasiriyah Youth Club of Bejaia Algerian”, and the Zamalek club team came at the head of the second group, which included the “ The Ethiopian National Alcohol Factory, Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosa, and Algeria’s Bejaia Municipality Mashal. The third group included the teams of Kenya’s Pipeline, Nigeria’s Customs Service, Saint-Denis of the Reunion Islands, and Cameroon’s Mayo Kanye Evolution.
