Joe Biden in New York: the president stops in Syracuse, Westchester and New York

IRVINGTON, New York (WABC) — President Joe Biden is expected to cause gridlock and possibly some traffic headaches when he concludes his visit to New York City on Friday.

Biden will spend Thursday night in the city before fundraising events on Friday morning.

It comes after the president visited Irvington for a fundraising event Thursday night.

The fundraiser was hosted by actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones and fashion designer Eileen Fisher.

It was Biden’s third time visiting Westchester County since he was elected president in 2020.

Irvington police had asked that people avoid traveling through the area after 2 p.m.

Several schools and businesses in the area adjusted their operating hours in anticipation of his trip.

Before the fundraiser, Biden was in Syracuse at 2 p.m. to announce a more than $6 billion investment in semiconductor maker Micron. He was joined by Governor Kathy Hochul and Senator Charles Schumer.
