Sergey Chimizov, the general manager of the Russian “Rostich” Foundation, confirmed that working to hold Sukhoi Su-57 fighters, and that the customer will receive the first plane very close, which represents an important step in the export of modern Russian fighter planes.
Arab Defense website – August 28, 2025: In a statement to Sergey Chemesov, Director General of the Russian “Rostich” Foundation, to “Agency”Raya NovostiHe stressed that work on implementing the Sukhoi Su-57 fighters is continuing, and it is expected that the customer will receive the first plane very soon.
Commenting on the company’s efforts to enhance exports in light of the observations of Western experts on the decline in military military cooperation:
“Objectively, our exports have witnessed a decrease since 2022, and the reasons are clear without the need for detail. However, the demand for our products remains very high, the size of the Rosoporone Exports requests has reached $ 60 billion, which is a record since the establishment of the company 25 years ago. The reason is simple: our partners realize the effectiveness of our weapons in the special operations area (in Ukraine), and they are ready To wait a little to get it. ”
“This year is a radical transformation with significantly accelerating production. In addition to the shipments of advanced forces, the products have been exported to more than 15 countries, and about 25 large contracts have signed a value of more than $ 9 billion, most of which are for the latest technological equipment, including drones, combat aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines, air defense systems, and high -resolution weapons. A contract to supply the Su-57e fighters is being implemented, and the first plane is expected to be delivered soon.
“Peritally, we were second in the world after the United States, and our goal during the next decade is to preserve this position at least in the field of weapons export, and this is not just an ambition, but rather a very important national task.”
And on the impact of high interest rates on exports, he explained: “This constitutes a challenge to the entire industry and not only for the company ‘Rosett. After a slight decrease in the interest rate from the central bank, we lose profitability during the production phase itself.
Algeria has officially announced that it would receive the Russian Fifth Generation fighter, “Su-57”, to become the first foreign country to obtain this advanced model of the Russian warplane. Reports indicated that the Algerian pilots are currently in Russia to receive training in the leadership of these fighters.
The delivery operations are scheduled to start before the end of this year, according to official Russian and serious assurances, while the details have not yet been revealed about the number of planes or the value of the official deal. However, Russian and Western military estimates indicate that the cost of a single plane amounts to about 35 million dollars, with the expectation of the export price higher, and a portion of the deal has been funded through counter -deals thanks to the natural resources that Algeria enjoys.
Russia describes the “Su-57” as a “miracle plane” because of its super technological capabilities, and Russian President Vladimir Putin described it as “the best plane in the world.”
Over the course of recent years, the Sukhoi, the plane manufacturer, has participated in air exhibitions in China and India to attract buyers, and was first offered to the public in 2011 during the “Max” International Air exhibition, but serial production was late until mid -2019. India had contributed financially to the development of the project before it withdrew from it in 2018.
Military Affairs Analyst, Yuri Knotov, indicated that most of the information about the “Su-57” plane is secret, and what is available is approximate estimates of its specifications. It describes it as one of the most advanced aircraft, as it contains modern missile systems capable of destroying targets that exceed any other plane, whether Russian or foreign.
Knotov added that “Su-57” is greater than the F-22 fighter in terms of the length of the wings and the structure, but it is lighter than Su-27, and is classified as heavy fighters. The plane meets the requirements of the entire fifth generation, thanks to the techniques of hiding and electronic warfare systems, and it has the speed of sound speed and the ability to maneuver with high overload, in addition to advanced and multifunctional electronics.
The plane is also characterized by the ability to control remotely or through artificial intelligence, which allows it to be operated over long distances without the need for pilots on board, and this means exceeding traditional physical restrictions on pilots during speed and maneuvers, which changes traditional combat tactics.
The history of military cooperation between Algeria and Russia dates back to the Soviet era, as Algeria began its independence in building its air forces using the MiG-15 fighters received from Egypt in 1962, in addition to multi-purpose helicopters of the Mi-4, where the Algerian teams trained at home and some neighboring Arab countries.
By the end of the 1960s, Algeria received the MiG-21 fighters and IL-28 launchers, as well as the S-75 anti-aircraft missile systems that were used at the time in Vietnam against the American forces.
Over the following decades, Algeria has constantly renewed its air fleet, by purchasing the MiG-23 and MIG-25 fighters, the latest Su-24M bombers, and in the nineties and MIPs, the MiG-29 fighters from Ukraine and Belarus were received, and the latest multi-task-30 aircraft from Russia, in addition to signing contracts to supply the YAK-130 training fighters.
