Coles shoppers devastated as popular $3.50 item is spotted with ‘reduced to clear’ labels: ‘What a shame’

Coles shoppers are devastated after discovering the dreaded ‘reduced to clear’ labels on their favourite supermarket item.
An eagle-eyed customer noticed Amy’s Kitchen canned soups were marked down from $4.40 to $3.52, marked with yellow ‘reduced to clear’ tags on the shelf.
‘Thought I’d share in case these are anyone else’s lazy dinner regulars. For reference this at Coles Southland in Melbourne. It’s a large busy store so I can’t imagine they’d be the only ones clearing the range,’ she said in a Reddit thread.
It’s unclear whether the popular tinned soups are permanently pulled from shelves or if the change only affects certain stores around Australia – but fans of the brand were quick to weigh in.
‘This is a massive bummer, especially for those on a budget… Perfect easy meal or who are super busy. These soups are actually good for you. Sadness,’ one shared.
‘NO. These are my fave – they’re so delicious. The kale and quinoa soup with a cup of microwave brown rice added – my fave CBF (couldn’t be f***ed) anything meal,’ another revealed.
‘Noooo! These are actually so good! What a shame,’ one added.
‘FFS (for f***’s sake) will it ever end?’ another furiously said.

Others suggested the soup may have been reduced because it was nearing its expiry date.
However, the shopper confirmed the cans were labelled with a 2028 expiry date.
Another customer confirmed seeing the beloved soup range at their Coles store in Perth, marked with the same clearance labels.
However, many speculated that the ‘reduced to clear’ labels might simply be making way for new, updated packaging for the same soup brand.

‘If there’s a major redesign coming, it’s to avoid confusion with mixing the labels up together,’ one suggested.
‘Reduced to clear does not necessarily mean that it isn’t coming back. Big chains often reduce to clear when overstocked and current supply will expire if not moved,’ another claimed.
‘Hopefully they’re just clearing this lot out to make room for a new shipment,’ one said.
Daily Mail has contacted Coles for comment.
