Seattle Seahawks will go up for sale after the Super Bowl in NFL bombshell… and could fetch a record price

The Seattle Seahawks will be put up for sale after the Super Bowl, according to reports.
A sale would finally end years of speculation surrounding the future of the team’s ownership after the 2018 death of former owner Paul G. Allen.
According to ESPN, an executive believes the Seahawks could be sold for as much as $7billion to $8billion. The most recent NFL sale, of the Washington Commanders in 2023, was for $6.05billion.
It’s also claimed that talks around a potential sale have been taking place among owners and within the NFL for at least the past week.
The Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA have been owned by Allen’s estate since the Microsoft co-founder’s death from cancer in 2018.
His sister, Jody, has overseen the running of both franchises in her role as executor of the trust. Allen left a directive to sell both and donate the proceeds to charity.
It comes just nine days before the Super Bowl, where the Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots in Santa Clara.
