NBA Commentator Caught On A Hot Mic Slamming Taylor Swift For Attending NBA Finals

A basketball commentator has copped backlash online after she was caught on a hot mic criticising Taylor Swift for attending the NBA Finals game four earlier today.

Swift was among the dozens of celebs who flocked to Madison Square Garden to watch on as the New York Knicks faced off the San Antonio Spurs in New York City.

While the pop star was spotted courtside thoroughly enjoying the festivities — dancing with besties Este and Alana Haim and actress Mariska Hargitay — one person not as thrilled was Monica McNutt, an ESPN New York commentator who was covering the big game.

During what they must’ve thought was an off-air moment, McNutt and her co-commentator Tyler Murray were heard trying to figure out whether it was really Swift in the crowd.

“Is that Taylor Swift down there?” McNutt asked. After a bit of cross-questioning, Murray seemingly whipped out his phone to zoom in on Swift in the crowd, at which point McNutt quipped, “she’s not a Knicks fan, get out of here girl.” Oop!

Since hell hath no fury like a Swiftie scorned, a bunch of fans rinsed McNutt for the hot mic moment, with one writing describing the comment as “unprofessional” and another saying it was “bitter for no reason”.

Though McNutt said otherwise, Swift actually is a well-documented Knicks fan and has attended many of their games over the years. This time around, she went all out by sporting a “Stevie Knicks” t-shirt in reference to the Fleetwood Mac singer.

It wasn’t the only awkward moment for Swift during the game. In another viral moment, she was spotted just a few rows ahead of her former manager and nemesis Scooter Braun, who attended the event with his girlfriend, actress Sydney Sweeney. Talk about nail-biting!

That trio were just a few of the famous faces that filled the crowd, with Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Hailey Bieber, Jake Shane,Adam Sandler also joining the courtside antics, while  Timothée Chalamet stepped out with his GF Kylie Jenner for yet another NBA date night.

The Knicks narrowly bested the Spurs to score the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history, but the real winner was the messy diva who forgot to turn off the commentators’ mics.
