Brisbane Broncos v Melbourne Storm at Suncorp Stadium

Thanks for joining us for the second-last Thursday night match of the season. When the draw was released last year, this shaped as a blockbuster clash between the teams that fought out the 2025 grand final, won by the Broncos.

But both clubs have struggled big time in 2026, especially the defending premiers, who are wallowing in 15th spot on the ladder, while the Storm sit 11th.

This season will mark the first time since 2010 (when Melbourne were effectively barred from finals contention because of the salary-cap scandal) that at least one of these powerhouse clubs hasn’t featured in the finals.
