How Leonardo DiCaprio became Hollywood’s ultimate poster boy for dad bods by embracing a laid-back and relaxed approach to life – after vowing to ‘slow down’ in his 50s

He was pictured proudly showing off his dad bod as he hit the beach with his younger model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti in Hawaii.
And Leonardo DiCaprio, 51, is widely considered Hollywood’s poster boy for the physique after leaning into a laid-back approach to life.
For years, the actor has embraced a relaxed figure instead of chasing after chiselled abs and muscular arms from his heyday.
After he entered his fifties, DiCaprio revealed that he wanted to start ‘slowing down’ despite admitting he still feels ’emotionally 35′.
‘I’m slowing down a bit,’ he told People before reassuring movie fans he won’t be quitting acting anytime soon.
He clarified: ‘When these opportunities come up, I mean, I can’t say no.’

When DiCaprio was asked in a previous interview how he feels about entering his fifties, the actor quipped that he actually turned ’emotionally 35′ last year.
He said: ‘It creates a feeling like you have a desire to just be more honest and not waste your time.
‘I can only imagine how the next few decades are going to progress. I look at my mother, for example, and she just says exactly what she thinks and wastes no time. She spends no time trying to fake it.’
DiCaprio, who previously stated he doesn’t work out, has favoured a comfortable lifestyle over strict and gruelling regimes.
Though he hasn’t stated he is vegan or vegetarian, DiCaprio has been a prominent advocate for plant-based eating.
The actor has been a major investor in sustainable and vegan companies, and has even prompted Gwyneth Paltrow to change her diet.
‘I hung out with Leonardo DiCaprio when I moved to New York. He was vegetarian and he’d talk about how dirty meat is and how bad factory farming is,’ she said.
‘I haven’t eaten red meat in 20 years and although Leo’s not totally responsible he definitely planted a seed.’
Proving he has never been a lover of working out, DiCaprio was overheard proudly speaking about his non-existent exercise regime back in 2017.
‘It was a party at this private estate,’ a source claimed to Page Six. ‘He was drinking his beer and bragging to these models about how he doesn’t work out.’
And his dad bod has certainly not affected his ability to date, with the actor having attracted some of the world’s top supermodels and actresses including Gisele Bundchen, Gigi Hadid and Camila Morrone.
DiCaprio and Ceretti have been romantically linked for over three years as the pair have kept their relationship mainly out of the spotlight.

Do you admire Leonardo DiCaprio’s relaxed approach to fitness and ageing, or do you prefer his younger, more athletic look?

Back in August 2023, the duo were spotted grabbing ice cream together in Santa Barbara, California.
The following month, the actor whisked himself to Italy where he attended Milan Fashion Week as Ceretti strutted down the runway.
Later that same year, a source told Us Weekly that DiCaprio was ‘completely smitten’ with the model while adding they both ‘have a ton in common’.
In regards to their age gap, the source explained that it ‘clearly isn’t an issue for him’ while adding that Ceretti ‘is an old soul’.
Last year in April, Ceretti made brief comments about her relationship with DiCaprio during an interview with Vogue France.
‘As soon as you’re in a relationship with someone who has a larger following than you, you become “girlfriend of” – or “boyfriend of”, for that matter,’ the model expressed to the outlet.
‘And that can be extremely annoying. Suddenly, people are talking about you as so-and-so’s girlfriend who was so-and-so’s ex.’
The star continued: ‘So it’s not nice to think that you can’t love whoever you want, because of the labels people need to stick on you.’
While Ceretti did not mention DiCaprio by name during her conversation with the publication, she did reveal that they first met in Milan.
However, she did gush about being a fan of the movie Titanic and called it ‘an iconic film’.
