Kyle Sandilands lashes out over claims his wife will leave him now that he has lost his $100 million contract

Kyle Sandilands has clapped back at critics who warned him that his wife would leave him once his fortune dwindled.

The radio host said goodbye to his $100 million payday when his contract with ARN was torn up following the axing of The Kyle and Jackie O Show earlier this year.

And while the shock jock walked away with a $12.09 million settlement, it’s not quite the sizeable fortune his wife, Tegan Kynaston, might have expected them to have.

’The most upsetting thing to me reading people’s comments was, ‘Let’s see how long the wife lasts without all that money,’ the 55-year-old said on his Kyle Sandilands Live show this week.

’I don’t mind being insulted, but to insult my wife to say she’s with me for cash is ludicrous and a demented way of thinking.’

Kyle said that he’s upset by the ‘terrible comments’ he’s seen from people who question the strength of his bond with Tegan, whom he married in 2023.

The pair, who live in a $14 million mansion in Vaucluse, share a son: Otto, four.

The radio legend said that people who comment on his marriage are clearly over-invested in him, despite claiming they ‘don’t care’ about his private life.

‘If I don’t care about something that is in the press, I don’t read it; I certainly don’t comment about something that I don’t care about,’ he said.

It comes after some financial setbacks for Kyle after he was forced to walk away from his highly-paid breakfast radio gig and start over as an independent broadcaster.

Earlier this month, Sandilands was ordered to go to court to battle a massive fallout with a luxury building company over the $5.9 million castle-like mansion he still can’t sell.

The radio star has been listed for a special fixture hearing before a judge next month to fight against a claim by the builders of the million-dollar mansion renovation of his Glenorie estate in north-west Sydney.

Alter Build Co Pty Ltd, a boutique construction company based in Sydney, claims Sandilands owes it $240,000 for bathroom, kitchen and laundry works on the six-bedroom, five-bathroom property.

The former FM radio king has refused to pay unless the builder can justify the bill, saying the project blew well past the budget he had set when embarking on the extravagant refurbishment of a gutted 1970s house on the acreage site.

‘If I’m in the wrong, I’m happy to pay but if I’m not then I’m not paying,’ Sandilands has stated.

Sued by Alter Build in a civil Statement of Claim, Sandilands was ordered in the NSW District Court on Friday to file his defence within 28 days, ahead of a hearing set down for late November.

The renovations in question are of a property called Kingsview Estate that Sandilands purchased for $3 million in 2022.

Sandilands initially listed the property earlier this year with price expectations of $5.7 million to $5.9 million before later reducing the guide to $4.9 million.

The house still has not sold despite the $800,000 price cut.

A year after buying the property, Sandilands and his then on-air co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson signed their industry-record 10-year contract with KIIS FM, worth a total of $200 million.

It ended in March, when Sandilands was suspended by parent company ARN and terminated following remarks he made about Henderson.
