MAFS Rhi Disljenkovic Addresses Jeff Gobbels Cheating Rumours

Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) bride Rhi Disljenkovic has opened up about her highly publicised breakup with reality TV boyfriend Jeff Gobbels, admitting that she was “really unhappy” towards the end of their relationship.

Back in June, the MAFS fanbase was shook to its core after 2025’s golden couple, Rhi and Jeff, announced their split in separate statements — emphasis on the ‘separate’, considering the differing tones of their public posts.

The pair have remained mostly silent regarding the demise of their relationship, but Rhi has shared personal updates on the struggles of moving on, admitting that she had “a lot of moments where [she] had to learn to sit with things [she] can’t control” in an Instagram post a week after they confirmed their split.

Now, sitting down with Life Uncut hosts Britt Hockley and Laura Byrne — who also host MAFS: After The Dinner Party with Jules Lund — the 2025 bride has opened up about the breakup, from the reason behind their split to the cheating rumours.

In her first interview since the split, Rhi confessed she felt like she was unsure of Jeff’s plans, especially since she was keen on becoming a wife and a mother.

“Jeff’s 41, I’m 36. And when you do get older, as you know, you don’t just ride the wave of life [like] you would in your 20’s where you’re like, let’s just see how things go. And obviously we had our fake wedding on TV, and I wanted to be someone’s wife. I wanted to be a mum, I wanted my life to progress. And I found myself having the same conversations on repeat about the future,” she said before adding that she was “shocked at his lack of bringing [their plans] up”.

“It makes you start doubting how they feel about you when someone isn’t bringing up anything to do with the future. You start to question yourself and how they feel, and then you become insecure about the relationship,” Rhi continued.

And while she was one of the lucky ones to have ‘found love’ through MAFS, Rhi admitted that she felt like their relationship was “fake” after leaving the reality TV series.

“As time went on, I would still receive messages about how lucky we are, and I started not to feel lucky. I started to feel like — I don’t know if fraud is the right word, but fake. Because you don’t want to have to ask your partner to act a type of way or be a type of way towards you. You want to feel that love and that genuine want to build a future,” she said.

Further in the podcast, Rhi said she ultimately decided to step away from the relationship “after expressing [her] feelings so much and just not being heard”.

“I found that the actions and the words were so different. So I was getting told the things that I wanted to hear, of course. But nothing was actually happening to move forward in our relationship and make me feel like he wanted to be there,” she said.

“At the end of the day, sometimes loving someone is just not enough to stay. And I needed reassurance that he wanted to be in our relationship and I just wasn’t getting that. And I just didn’t recognise our relationship anymore. I didn’t recognise him, I didn’t recognise me. And I just had to choose myself because I was too unhappy to stay.”

Rhi admitted that she and Jeff “didn’t bring out the best in each other” towards the end of their relationship. However, she does emphasise that she “wouldn’t say [it was] a bad relationship”.

“Obviously, breakups can bring out the worst in people. And I feel like we definitely didn’t bring out the best in each other at the end. But in terms of how the relationship was as a whole, I wouldn’t call it a bad relationship,” Rhi said.

“There was a lot of good about Jeff and that’s why we were together. And I wouldn’t stay in something that is terrible. But at the same time, towards the end, I was really unhappy.”

Did Jeff Gobbels cheat on Rhi Disljenkovic?

While Rhi and Jeff never shared the specific reason behind their break-up — up until now — fans began to speculate that Jeff had cheated on her during their relationship. Addressing the boiling speculation on Life Uncut, Rhi said she was “always faithful” to Jeff and that “it was really hard” to ignore the whispers of infidelity after admitting that “there were a lot of boundaries crossed” in their relationship.

“There were rumours of infidelity. Not that I ever found out concrete [evidence] that they were true. But I was always faithful in our relationship, and it was really hard to get past those rumours,” she said.

Towards the end of the podcast, Rhi took the opportunity to address some of Jeff’s online moves following their split, admitting that some of his posts “brought [her] a fair bit of hate”.

“He has definitely posted a few things that have brought me a fair bit of hate online, which is hard considering at the end of the day, it didn’t end amicably,” she continued.

“When you do get that hate because of a post, it is very hard to stay quiet. But at the same time, I didn’t want to retaliate. There are current rumours about me being the one that cheated on him, and that is just the biggest lie.”

At the time of writing, Jeff hasn’t responded to Rhi’s recent interview. However, it’s only a matter of time before another podcast, IG Live, or IG Story happens, I reckon.

Neither Rhi nor Jeff have publicly hard-launched a new partner since their split. But considering how massive their split was, I reckon it’ll be yonks before we see some romance from either party.
