Man United suffer a major injury blow as star is forced off during defeat against West Ham just 10 days before Europa League final

Manchester United have suffered a major blow after Leny Yoro was forced off with an injury during their 2-0 loss to West Ham.

The Frenchman went down unchallenged and was seen clutching his left foot before being treated on the pitch.

Yoro eventually limped off seven minutes into the second-half and replaced by Harry Maguire, with the former going straight down the tunnel.

The defender’s injury will come as a huge below for United and now faces a race against time to be fit for the Europa League final against Tottenham in 10 days.

However, Ruben Amorim is optimistic that it’s not a serious injury after his side’s torrid Premier League form continues.

‘He had that problem at the beg of the season. We hope it’s not too serious. I don’t want to say too much but maybe it’s not a big deal,’ the United boss told Sky Sports.

West Ham took the lead on the 26th minute when Tomas Soucek turned the ball home from close-range.

Jarrod Bowen’ doubled the lead just before the hour mark, turning home Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross after Manuel Urgate was dispossessed in his own half.

Amorim said of his side’s performance: ‘If you look at the goals that we suffer we can avoid these goals. The lack of energy, of urgency. That is the most dangerous things in this club. You can feel it at the beginning of the game.

‘Between our box and opponent’s box there is a lack of urgency. That is something we have to change in this club.

‘I am responsible for that. It is frustrating because we are so near the goals. We have such a lack of urgency to protect our goal. This is week by week. We don’t play so well in the Europa League but we have a different sense of urgency.

‘It’s something we need to work on. It’s inside the pitch and outside the pitch. If we are not able to do we have to go away and give the space to different people. All of us.

‘We are going to face a team from Premier League so we are going to struggle. Of course we are going to be more focused, and that is a concern because we have to be focused every game.

‘For me it doesn’t matter if we win the Europa League because the problems are much bigger than that.’
