Midwest teen lured man to park through dating app, then screamed ‘I actually hate gay people’ and got mob to beat him up, cops say
A Missouri teenager lured a man to a park through a dating app before screaming ‘I actually hate gay people’ and releasing a violent mob on him, police said.
Abdulwareth Alahmad, 18, was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly set up the attack on the unknown victim, the Ellisville Police Department said in a report obtained by the Daily Mail.
Alahmad, who also goes by Adam, allegedly met the man at Bluebird Park, about 25 miles outside of St Louis, at 2.20am that day, the report stated.
But when they met face-to-face, Alahmad shared his disgust for gay people before four males jumped out from nearby bushes and approached the man, police stated.
The mob punched the victim in the head and torso and continued to do so after he fell to the ground, according to the report.
As they did so, the male victim said that the others kept asking for his keys and ‘stuff’ as they repeatedly called him a ‘f*****’ and a n*****,’ police said.
During the attack, the man dropped his iPhone and eventually managed to run to his car and drive away as the group continued ‘to taunt and threaten him,’ authorities stated.
The victim drove to the Ellisville Police Department and reported the attack while the suspects left the scene before returning and smashing the victim’s phone, the report detailed.

Detectives later obtained surveillance footage and audio that captured the alleged crimes and recovered the victim’s damaged $1,200 phone at the park, according to police.
Flock cameras also captured a car driving away from the park, and the victim identified Alahmad in a photo lineup.
Police arrested him around 10pm after initiating a traffic stop, the report stated.
Alahmad has been charged with first-degree assault and property damage motivated by discrimination.
Authorities have not identified the other men involved in the attack and the extent of the victim’s injuries remains unclear.
The Daily Mail contacted the Ellisville Police Department for comment.
