Rep. Randy Fine, a Florida Republican, was caught rifling through a homeowner’s mailbox, but he will not face charges, according to a new report.

Ring camera footage recorded Sunday afternoon shows Fine campaigning door to door in Florida’s 6th Congressional District ahead of Tuesday’s GOP primary, TMZ reported.

In the video, Fine — wearing a campaign shirt — stands on the homeowner’s front porch after apparently ringing the doorbell. He then opens a wall-mounted mailbox and sorts through several pieces of mail. He does not appear to remove anything from the mailbox.

Fine’s office confirmed to TMZ that the man shown in the video is the congressman.

Federal law prohibits anyone from “willfully or maliciously” injuring, tearing down or destroying a letter box or other receptacle used to deliver or receive mail, according to U.S. Code Section 1705.

The homeowner whose mail Fine examined will not press charges, an Ormond Beach Police representative told TMZ. The homeowner, who was not identified, watched the encounter remotely through her Ring camera and called police, the outlet reported.

A dispatch report obtained by TMZ said the man in the video went through the mailbox “letter by letter.”

The Independent has contacted Fine’s office and the Ormond Beach Police Department for comment.

Fine won a 2025 special election in Florida’s 6th Congressional District following Mike Waltz’s resignation to become national security advisor to President Donald Trump.

He is now seeking a full term in Tuesday’s Republican primary. Several other GOP candidates are also competing for the nomination.

Trump has given Fine his “Complete and Total Endorsement.”

The congressman has drawn criticism for past comments about Muslims and the war in Gaza.

In February, he wrote on X: “If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one.” In a Fox News interview last year, he also called for nuclear weapons to be used in Gaza, according to The Times of Israel.
