Neurologist, Pavel Kokotov, said that some sleeping places can be harmful to health with constant use, and also explained what should be abandoned.

He stressed that it was safe to sleep on spring mattresses. They are designed in such a way that the person is in the optimal position for his body.

“Traditional spring mattresses are designed so that the mattress is compressed under the weight of the body at certain intervals and in different ways. That is, it is somewhat stronger in the hips, and smaller in the lower back, so that natural curves are created and the muscles are relaxed,” Kokotov said.

He emphasized that a completely different effect is obtained when people sleep on an air mattress or a foldable bed. In such cases, the swing effect is obtained when the legs and head are at the top and the lower back and torso are below.

According to Kokotov, this can lead to pain in the neck or lower back. People who sleep in the wrong position are at risk of developing diseases of the spine or sleep disorders.
