Alex and Jane are getting married after 60 years of engagement
A Scottish couple had a wedding 60 years after their engagement and, according to the couple, simply did not have time to legitimize the relationship. As the Daily Mail wrote.
90-year-old Alex Hamilton proposed the engagement of 89-year-old Jane in 1962. However, according to the couple, too busy life prevented them from having a wedding, so each time they postpone the celebration, but after 60 years they decided to hold the ceremony .
The long-awaited party was attended by their five children and eleven grandchildren. For Alex and Jane’s daughter, the wedding also came as a complete surprise.
According to her daughter, her father is a rather shy person and her mother is rather courteous. They still go on dates, and have dinner together at restaurants.
“They are so cute, and she still laughs like a schoolgirl when he smiles at her,” the daughter added.
