Czech Republic buys 24 US F-35 fighter jets
In the coming days, the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic will begin negotiations on the purchase of the fifth-generation American fighter F-35 Lightning (“Lightning”).
According to the Prime Minister of the Republic, Peter Fiala, it is planned to purchase a total of 24 such aircraft.
On the eve of this, it became known that the Pentagon and Lockheed Martin “reached an agreement” on the supply of 375 F-35 combat aircraft to US forces within three years.
Before that, the press service of the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces announced the transfer of American F-35 fighters to the Omari air base near Tallinn.
The F-35 Lightning II is a family of fifth-generation multirole fighter bombers developed by the American company Lockheed Martin in three versions. The aircraft has been produced since 2006.
