Head of the Environmental Affairs Agency: Completion of the investment map for the central reserves

 Dr. Ali Abu Sunna, CEO of the Environmental Affairs Agency, confirmed that one of the most important files that the Ministry of Environment attaches to is the file of increasing investment in natural reserves, noting that the investment map for the central reserves has been completed and investment opportunities have been identified.

 

 

Dr. Ali Abu Sunna said, in a statement to the Middle East News Agency, that there are now models of advanced natural reserves that are invested in and their resources are preserved through changing thinking and partnership. With the private sector in South Sinai, the Red Sea, and Cairo, it has projects that provide pioneering environmental tourism and investment opportunities to integrate the environmental file with people on the ground.

The head of the agency indicated that the environmental situation of Lake Burullus, which It is one of the natural reserves and the second largest natural lake in Egypt in terms of area. An international consulting office was commissioned to prepare an integrated study that includes water quality and circulation, paths and depths of radial channels, speed of water currents and water balance in the lake through mathematical environmental modeling systems, and in accordance with environmental standards for fish reproduction. Targeted inside the lakes and environmental monitoring procedures for the biodiversity and ecosystems of the lakes necessary before, during and after the implementation of development works and the necessary works to maximize the benefit of their natural resources and study the environmental impact of development on the residents of the region.

Abu Sunna noted the importance of developing the environmental sector and ways to deal with it. With all sectors, the environmental dimension has become an essential part of all sectors, and that the work to restructure the sector began some time ago, and we are now reaping its results on the ground. Pointing out that tourism investment in natural reserve areas is carried out in accordance with environmental requirements compatible with the nature of the reserves.
