"Housing" It confirms its support for drinking water and sanitation companies to improve the level of their services

Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, Dr. Sayed Ismail, confirmed the Ministry’s support for drinking water and sanitation companies nationwide to improve the level of services provided by them and improve the performance of their employees.

 

This came during the Deputy Minister’s meeting with representatives of the German Development Bank “KFW”, the German Agency for International Cooperation “GIZ”, and the Dutch Water Association “Dutch Water”, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Housing in the New Administrative Capital, to follow up on the position of choosing the participation of the Luxor Drinking Water and Sanitation Company. With similar companies around the world within the Global Urban Water Catalyst Initiative, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry’s Project Management Unit (BMU).

During the meeting, Dr. Sayed Ismail explained the amount of support provided to the Luxor Water and Sanitation Company to win the initiative, adding that the goals and outputs of the initiative are consistent with the utility sector strategy and the future improvement of the sector in all aspects, including The tariff for utilities, as well as structuring the sector, encouraging decentralization in project implementation, and covering the operating and maintenance costs of drinking water companies in the governorates.

Ismail stressed that the Luxor Water and Wastewater Company is distinguished by a group of young cadres in its technical, operational and institutional sectors, which It is consistent with the objectives of the initiative, pointing out that training for these youth cadres was offered within the integrated sanitation services program in some rural areas in Upper Egypt in Luxor Governorate, funded by the African Development Bank and implemented in cooperation with the American University in Cairo “AUC”.

During the meeting, representatives of the German Development Bank, the German Agency for International Cooperation, and the Dutch Water Association praised the cooperation that took place through the Luxor Water and Sanitation Company, with the mission in Luxor Governorate, during its visit on Monday and Tuesday, March 24 and 25, 2024, to conduct interviews for the company’s employees in its various sectors. Pointing to the fruitful discussions about the various services provided by the company to citizens and the importance of the initiative to Luxor Company.
