Government: There is no validity in raising the prices of food supplies during the current month

The Cabinet Media Center denied the news that spread regarding the government’s intention to raise the prices of food supplies during the current month.

The media center explained in a statement today, Monday, that it had contacted the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, which denied the news… stressing that there is no truth to raising the prices of food supplies during the current month, and that no decisions have been issued in this regard.

 

The statement indicated that the Ministry stressed that the prices of food supplies in all food outlets, consumer complexes, and branches of the “My Association” project It is fixed as it is without any change, with the availability of a strategic stock sufficient for several months to come. It also indicated launching periodic monitoring campaigns on all consumer complexes and food outlets, as well as markets in various governorates, to control violations and prevent any monopolistic practices or price manipulation.

 

The Media Center appealed to all media outlets and users of social networking sites to ensure accuracy and objectivity in publishing news, and to communicate with the relevant authorities to ensure before publishing information that is not based on any facts and leads to creating confusion among citizens, and in the event of any complaints related to the shortage of basic food commodities.
