"Fund for caring for innovators and geniuses" Announces the start of selection of teams participating in the Startup Olympiad
Under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Innovators and Geniuses Fund announced the start of selecting teams to participate in the Start-up Olympiad at universities, with the participation of 850 A team from more than 45 Egyptian universities (governmental, private, private and technological) in various sciences and knowledge.
For his part, the Minister expressed his happiness at the launch of this edition of the Startup Olympiad, with the participation of A wide range of Egyptian universities, which aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among students, support promising ideas and projects, and provide training opportunities and financial and logistical support for the participating teams, stressing the importance of supporting innovation and entrepreneurship among students, and providing the appropriate environment to develop their skills and creativity, within the framework of implementing the strategy. The National Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030, which pays great attention to entrepreneurship and innovation, noting that these events contribute to strengthening the Egyptian economy and creating new job opportunities for youth.
Dr. stressed. Diaa Khalil, Executive Director of the Innovators and Geniuses Fund, said that the Startup Olympiad competition targets Egyptian university students and researchers who have innovative ideas and want to develop them into a real business model and create a startup company, noting that this stage of the competition will witness student teams competing to obtain one of the first places in the competition. The university level will receive valuable financial prizes provided by the Fund, explaining that the winning teams at the university level will represent their universities in the innovative qualifiers at the geographic region level, where they will compete for one of the first places at the region level with greater prizes and support.
Dr. Diaa Khalil pointed out the advantages of participating in the Startup Olympiad competition, which includes financing the winning companies with 500 thousand pounds, and providing services worth 500 thousand pounds, in addition to participating in the GenZ television program, in addition to training and guidance from pioneers. Experienced businesses and investors, access to a network of investors and business owners, and highlighting the teams’ efforts in the media.
