A dolphin was discovered stranded on the beach of Neufchâtel-Hardelot, near Boulogne-sur-Mer, in Pas-de-Calais, Wednesday April 17, reports France Blue North. This is the second dolphin found stranded on this beach in 48 hours, indicates Opale Capture, the specialized service for animal interventions in the department.

The first corpse, 2 meters long, was discovered late Monday afternoon. The second corpse was discovered on Wednesday, around 7 a.m., and an autopsy must be carried out during the day by the national stranding network to determine the causes of death.

According to Opale Capture, strandings of dolphins on the coasts of the department are increasingly common, due to global warming.
