President of the Arabic Language Academy: We aim to have our production reach the whole world through artificial intelligence

 The head of the Arabic Language Academy, Dr. Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Hafez, confirmed that the Academy is keen to use artificial intelligence to make our production in the Arabic language accessible to the whole world.

Abdel-Hafez said in a special statement to the Middle East News Agency on the sidelines of the 90th session. From the annual international conference of the Arabic Language Academy – Artificial intelligence will facilitate the process of communicating with the world by transferring the production of the Arab world abroad, indicating that this production is very small because the Arabic language is not a common language in the outside world, and therefore the Academy is making great efforts to communicate our production of the Arabic language. To the whole world.

He stressed that the annual conference of the Arabic Language Academy is a very important conference, especially in light of the challenges we face in preserving heritage, noting that the conference is held in the presence of orientalists and lexicographers in all Arab countries, and this year communication takes place through Zoom with many scholars so they can communicate with each other.

Abdul Hafez added that the conference will last for 10 days because it discusses everything related to the Arabic language and everything that happened throughout the year in all Arab countries in this file, pointing out He pointed out that the main goal of the conference is to communicate between all dictionaries in Arab countries, as well as orientalists and students of the Arabic language in countries that do not speak Arabic, to preserve the language and connect it to the world through means of modern technology, pointing to the importance of translating the Arabic language directly through artificial intelligence into any other language so that it can be recognized. The Western world learns about what the Arabs are doing and we learn about what is being done in the Western world.

It is worth noting that the conference will be held from April 22nd until next May 2nd, under the title “The Arabic Language and the Challenges of the Age: Perceptions, Suggestions, and Solutions.” ;, in the presence of Dr. Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Hafez, President of the Arabic Language Academy, and the heads and representatives of Arabic language academies at the level of the Arab world.

The opening session is scheduled to begin, with a speech by the President of the Conference, Dr. Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Hafez (President of the Academy), then a speech by Dr. Muhammad Ayman Ashour (Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research), then a speech by the non-Egyptian members of the Academy’s conference delivered by Dr. Khalil Al-Nahwi (President of the Council of the Arabic Tongue in Mauritania), then a speech entitled “Between Two Conferences” By Dr. Abdel Hamid Madkour (Secretary General of the Academy).

The conference will discuss, in its closed sessions, a number of linguistic and scientific terms presented by committees: biology and agriculture, education and psychology, environmental sciences, dialects and linguistic research, physics, and linguistics. And methods, geology, computers, the great dictionary (items from the letters ta and tha), history and archaeology, Islamic philosophy, anthropology, a dictionary of the language of Arabic poetry, mathematics, media, engineering, geography, linguistic origins, and oil.

Also. In its public sessions, the conference will discuss a number of research on the challenges facing the Arabic language in this era, including: Defending the Arabic language in light of contemporary challenges, computer programs for teaching the Arabic language, the societal view of the Arabic language, the Arabic language and contemporary challenges and ways to confront them in light of the availability of artificial intelligence techniques, and consolidating the applications of artificial intelligence in departments of the Arabic language and literature.

The table session also discusses several topics, including: «Translation Problems», and a symposium on artificial intelligence and teaching the Arabic language, societal acceptance of new words, the institutional dimension in protecting, popularizing, and promoting classical Arabic, and the efforts of the Arabic Language Academy in bringing classical and colloquial language closer together, and proposing solutions to the problem of linguistic duality, as well as a discussion on digital literature. And a symposium on linguistic duality in the novel “The Wedding of Zein.” By the Sudanese writer Tayeb Salih.

The conference will conclude its activities on May 2nd, with a final report on the conference’s work by Dr. Abdel Hamid Madkour (Secretary-General of the Academy), followed by the announcement of the decisions and recommendations, then a speech by one of the professors from the conference members other than Egyptians, then the closing speech of the session by Dr. Abdel Wahab Abdel Hafez (President of the Academy).
