University protests: 2 graduate students arrested during protest at Princeton University

PRINCETON, New Jersey (WPVI) — Two graduate students at Princeton University in New Jersey have been arrested and banned from campus.

Several dozen people gathered on campus Thursday morning, according to school officials.

A small number of the group set up tents, which is a violation of university policy.

After the group was repeatedly warned to leave the area, authorities said two graduate students were arrested for trespassing.

Protesters later voluntarily dismantled all tents, authorities said.

The two Princeton students now face disciplinary proceedings.

The protest comes as other universities and colleges across the country call on police to crack down on pro-Palestinian protesters on campuses.

In Boston, 108 protesters were arrested and four police officers were injured when protests turned violent at Emerson College.

Protesters want their schools to stop doing business with Israel or any company that supports Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.
