Savannah Guthrie announces first big new gig since mother Nancy’s abduction as she prepares to host WORDLE TV show

Savannah Guthrie will host a TV adaptation of the popular New York Times puzzle game ‘Wordle’, it’s been revealed.
Guthrie, 54, announced the half-hour game show alongside Jimmy Fallon on Monday’s ‘Today’ show. Fallon, 51, has been tapped to produce, NBC said.
The show is to premiere on primetime next year, both hosts said.
A series of quick clips of Guthrie hosting the program were played as it was revealed the show has been being worked on for two-and-a-half years.
‘I’m so happy it’s you. We were looking, we were like, who’s the perfect host for this?’ Fallon told Guthrie of her being named as host.
Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother Nancy, meanwhile, remains missing. She was last seen at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on the evening of January 31 and was likely abducted.
Guthrie – a Today host since 2012 – stepped away at the start of the search but returned to the Today set early last month.
She admitted to the Times Monday that the arrangement has been ‘strange’.

‘It’s strange to get up and do the “Today” show every day, and it’s strange to say that I’m going to do a game show when your heart is broken,’ Guthrie said.
She added that ‘it’s not easy.’
‘But I’m determined to put one foot in front of the other. And this is a joyous thing,’ she said.
