Henry Orenstein, creator of ‘Transformers’, dies

 

The creator of the Transformers game series, Henry Orenstein, has passed away at the age of 98.

The death occurred on December 15 at Orenstein’s home in New Jersey, and the cause of death has not been revealed.

Henry Orenstein was born in Poland in 1923. During World War II, his parents were killed in front of his eyes, and he and his brother were sent to a Nazi concentration camp in Germany.

After the war, Orenstein began making games; Create a Transformers toy collection. These games became the inspiration for comic book series, cartoon series, films about Transformers, in which major stars – Megan Fox, Mark Wahlberg, Shia LaBeouf, John Cena and others starred.

As he got older, Orenstein became a professional poker player. He participated in televised poker tournaments and won several tournaments.
