Munich conference calls for arms supplies to Ukraine…..

The new president of the Munich Security Conference, Christoph Heusgen, and the former adviser to the former chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, spoke in favor of Germany supplying arms to Ukraine and changing its position on Nord Stream 2.

Heusgen Halal, in an interview with the Rheinische Post, expressed his view that German authorities were now taking the path of least resistance, citing the country’s strict rules on arms exports.

“At the same time, we are exporting the latest submarines to Israel in the same way, noting our history,” Heusgen said.

The politician asked whether Berdin should not supply Kiev with arms for the same reason.

He also called on the former adviser to Merkel to rethink the issue of launching the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project. According to him, it cannot be launched if Russia attacks Ukraine.

Germany has repeatedly stated that it will not supply lethal weapons to Ukraine. Among other things, the country’s authorities referred to the alliance agreement, which stipulated the obligation not to supply military equipment and ammunition to countries experiencing regional conflicts.
German Chancellor Olaf Schulz has repeatedly emphasized that Germany’s position has not changed with the change of government: “Berlin does not provide lethal weapons.”
