Jeremy Allen White Eyes Bruce Springsteen Role in ‘Nebraska’ Movie

Jeremy Allen White is looking to go from “The Bear” to the Boss, as the actor is in talks to play Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming narrative feature about the making of his 1982 album “Nebraska,” Variety has confirmed.

No deals have been finalized, but Scott Cooper is circling to write and direct the movie, titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” which hails from Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein of the Gotham Group. A24 is also in talks to board the project, and Scott Stuber, in his first major film project since leaving his post as the chairman of Netflix Films, has joined as a producer.

The film is an adaptation of Warren Zanes’ 2023 book “Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.” It will follow Springsteen and the journey of making his sixth studio album, a dark, stripped-down collection of songs that marked a new artistic direction from the “Born to Run” rocker. Springsteen recorded “Nebraska” on four-track cassette in his New Jersey bedroom a few years before he and the E Street Band would release “Born in the U.S.A.”

White is hot off his awards run for “The Bear,” having won a Golden Globe, Emmy and SAG Award for playing Carmy Berzatto in FX’s kitchen dramedy. He’s currently filming Seasons 3 and 4 of the series in Chicago. The actor also received acclaim for his role in A24’s sports drama “The Iron Claw,” in which he played wrestling champion Kerry Von Erich.
