Al-Ghailani wins the Dubai Boat Fishing Competition "Kayak"

Dubai, April 14 / WAM / Contestant Khalil Khalfan Al Ghailani won the title of the Dubai Kayak Fishing Competition 2024, which was organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, yesterday, Saturday, as part of the calendar of the current marine sports season.
More than 60 contestants from the country and residents of various nationalities participated in the tournament, and competitions were held in the waters of the Dubai Islands in the Lakes region, for two titles, the first in the category of total weight of fish of their specific types (skull, hard, rib, and jish), and the second in the category of kingfish (kingfish).
Khalil Khalfan Al-Ghailani set a record by obtaining a total fish weight of 19.45 kg (two rib fish weighing 14.8 kg and a fish weighing 4.6 kg), to occupy first place, far ahead of the second-place finisher, the Egyptian contestant Nader Wajih Ahmed, who caught one rib fish weighing 10.1 kg. The Filipino is in third place after receiving a total weight of 9.1 kg.
Filipino Paul Rommel Dambell won first place in the kingfish fishing category after catching a fish weighing 18.4 kg. His compatriot Lito Dalangin came in second place with a weight of 7.8 kg, and the Palestinian contestant Muhammad Al-Khatib came in third place with a weight of 6.8 kg.
Mohammed Saif Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, explained that the Dubai Kayak Fishing Competition revealed the strength of competition and the skills of the participants in the tournament, which was recently added to the club’s calendar of events to find a prominent position among members of society and attract a wide segment of fans, reaching The number of registered people on the list before the start of the event reached more than 160 competitors.
