US deploys 7,000 soldiers in Germany

An additional 7,000 US soldiers and officers will be transferred to Europe, according to the Pentagon.

The US Department of Defense announced that this event is taking place as part of strengthening the defense of the eastern flank of NATO. US President Joe Biden had stressed in his speech that Washington would not send US forces to Ukraine and would not fight Russia.

More US troops will be sent to Eastern European countries to protect the borders of the NATO allies. Before the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the United States had already transferred a large number of military personnel to Europe, which were stationed in Poland and Germany.

The redeployment of units on the territory of Romania was also announced.
