England release squad numbers for World Cup 2026

England have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2026 World Cup.

A portion of Thomas Tuchel’s 26-man squad arrived in Florida for their pre-tournament warm-up camp after taking off from Birmingham International on Monday morning.

Those that did not fly will later join up with the group in the ‘Sunshine State’, including Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke following Saturday’s Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

As England look to climb their Mount Everest and end a 60-year wait to conquer world football once again, we now know what number each player will wear during that journey, beginning against Croatia on 17 June.

Captain Harry Kane unsurprisingly retains the No 9 shirt as England’s indispensable goalscoring asset, while Jude Bellingham takes the No 10, which could act as encouragement in his battle to start ahead of Morgan Rogers behind Kane.

Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, who has previously donned the shirt numbers 23 and 21 for the Three Lions, has been given the prestige of wearing England’s No 8 at the World Cup, following in the footsteps of Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard and most recently Jordan Henderson, who takes the No 14 top.

Nico O’Reilly, joining Anderson in playing at his first international tournament for England after a breakout season at Manchester City, will wear No 3, with both set for prominent roles under Tuchel.
