Resuming Russian tourism to Egypt via Turkey

Experts of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) indicated. The opening of direct flights from Israel to Sharm el-Sheikh is unlikely to attract tourists from Russia, since there are certain risks in transit through Israel.

In particular, the border guards on the Israeli side very carefully check the documents of travelers coming from abroad. If they have the slightest doubt about the route of the tourist, they may not be allowed to enter the country.

In addition, there are very few direct flights from Moscow to Israel, and the rest of them are quite expensive.

Representatives of tour operators indicated that, according to preliminary estimates, a one-way ticket to Egypt via Israel can cost at least 60 thousand rubles.

According to them, it is now easier to get to Egypt through Istanbul airports, because in this case it is possible to choose a convenient means of communication and issue a “transit” ticket.

In early March, Egypt’s national airline suspended flights from Cairo to Moscow. Due to problems with air insurance, which now prevents EgyptAir planes from entering Russian airspace.
