Members of Congress will address senior Pentagon intelligence official Ronald Moultrie and Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence Scott Bray.

Congressman Adam Schiff, chair of the US Intelligence Committee, said the hearings will give the audience “a chance to hear directly from leaders of the intelligence community about one of the greatest mysteries of our time.”

He added that the speech of military officials “will break the vicious circle of excessive secrecy and speculation of truth and transparency” on the subject of unidentified flying objects.

In turn, Deputy Committee Chairman Andrei Carson said that “the American people deserve their leaders in government and intelligence to seriously assess any potential national security risks, especially those we do not fully understand.”

“Since coming to Congress, I have been focused on the problem of unidentified weather phenomena as a national security threat,” Carson admitted.

In June 2021, the United States released a report listing 144 cases of “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAPs) over the past 17 years, 18 of which observers have reported “unmanned aircraft traffic patterns or unusual flight characteristics”.

It was previously reported that US lawmakers have expressed concern that national security authorities are not taking seriously reports of unidentified aircraft violating US airspace.

Members of the Senate Committees on Intelligence and the Armed Forces have received classified reports on new data-gathering methods that the Pentagon should use to investigate UFO reports more thoroughly.
