He appreciated the combined efforts and cooperation demonstrated by various federal and local government agencies and the private sector, which contributed to the speed of recovery and reducing the repercussions resulting from the unusual weather condition.

His Excellency explained that, in response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” to quickly work on studying the state of infrastructure in various regions of the country and inventory the damage caused by the heavy rains, the Ministry began coordinating with its partners to form field work teams entrusted to it. The tasks of immediately starting to inventory and evaluate the damage resulting from the effects of the weather condition that the country experienced, and to prepare comprehensive studies of the need for dams and water canals for expansion and development, so that they are ready for any future developments, and in a way that contributes to containing similar weather conditions that may occur in the future, in addition to preparing an operational plan. Integrated to repair all damage to the federal road network caused by the depression, with preventive measures to ensure the continuity of the rainwater drainage network on the roads.

He pointed out that the Ministry is in the process of following up on the preventive maintenance plan for water pumping stations on the federal road network and maintaining them to ensure their permanent readiness.

Regarding the ministry’s efforts to contain the effects of the depression, His Excellency said: “The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has developed integrated plans and comprehensive work programs to respond immediately and quickly to emergency cases and reports, and to deal with the effects of the weather condition before they occur. The plan’s main axis was focused on ensuring the safety of community members and their property and protecting the infrastructure.” Infrastructure.

He pointed out that the Ministry took preventive and proactive measures to ensure the readiness and efficiency of the infrastructure to face the challenges resulting from the depression. Among these measures, coordination meetings were held during which immediate response plans were developed, dealing priorities were determined, and roles were distributed, while 7 field work teams were formed in cooperation with… Partners in the private sector, with the aim of responding quickly to any emergency on federal roads and dams. Dam gates were also opened and water was emptied to relieve pressure on them and prepare them to absorb new quantities of rainwater.

His Excellency pointed out that the Ministry carried out a series of intensive technical and engineering examinations to ensure the safety of the dams’ infrastructure, with a special focus on drainage systems and their ability to handle large amounts of water. The procedures also included cleaning the water channels leading to the dams and removing any obstacles that might prevent the flow of water. Efficiently, he pointed out that the Ministry cleaned the waterways and ferries to ensure the drainage of rainwater and avoid its accumulation on federal roads.

His Excellency stressed that the technological and technical development introduced by the Ministry within its work system, especially the monitoring and control center for the road network, and the modern technologies used in managing dams, played a role in raising its efficiency, providing the ability to make quick decisions, and respond quickly to emergency situations during a depression, And ensuring the safety of citizens, residents and infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates.

His Excellency explained that the Monitoring and Control Center received many reports related to the federal road network and dams, and they were dealt with directly by field work teams. 20 teams were also formed with the mission of withdrawing rainwater and repairing damage to the federal road network in the country.

His Excellency the Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs pointed out that the work teams continued their tasks with various partners day and night, to mitigate the effects of rainwater and protect lives and property, indicating that the Ministry began immediate work to maintain the parts affected by the consequences of the depression and rainwater. .
