Biden signs the 2022 US military budget

US President Joe Biden signed the US military budget for 2022. According to the Daily Mail, it amounted to 768 billion dollars, and at the same time includes the costs of military assistance to Ukraine and confronting China.

The bill includes a 2.7% increase in wages for US military personnel and an increase in purchases of aircraft and Navy ships, and also lays out a strategy to combat threats from Russia and China.

Also, $300 million was approved for assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces, and $7.1 billion for the Pacific Containment Initiative.

Notably, the final budget, approved by the House and Senate, turned out to be $25 billion more than Biden originally requested, and 5% more than the 2021 budget.
