Army arrests President of Burkina Faso

The President of Burkina Faso, Roc Marc Christian Kabore, was arrested by the army, which started a rebellion in the country.

It is assumed that the head of state is being held in one of the army bases.

The military mutiny occurred on January 23 at several army bases in Burkina Faso.

French radio station RFI reported that the rebels are demanding the resignation of the incumbent president.

Information appeared in the media that the family of President Kabore had left the country.
It was also reported that on the night of January 24, shooting was heard near the residence of the Head of State in the capital, Ouagadougou. Helicopters circled over the area.
