Macedonia receives American armored cars

North Macedonia has received the first six US Joint Light Armored Vehicles (JLTV) of Oshkosh manufacture out of 33 ordered, in place of the Russian T-72 tanks sent to Ukraine.

“This delivery represents a major step forward in the process of modernizing and equipping ground forces to NATO standards,” said Defense Minister of the Republic of Slavyanka Petrovsky.

Six JLTVs arrived at the Greek port of Thessaloniki with 180 Textron M1117 armored vehicles donated by the United States to Greece, after which they were sent to North Macedonia.

Earlier, it was reported that a convoy of T-72 tanks belonging to the Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia was seen moving towards Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia, we are talking about tanks of the “third generation”, which were part of the “soon to be disbanded unit”.

“The agency did not specify how many tanks were delivered to the Ukrainian side,” the report says.
