Japan offers gas supplies to Europe

The Japanese authorities have expressed their readiness to regulate the supply of liquefied natural gas to the European Union in case the situation around Ukraine deteriorates.

It is expected that this will be officially announced in the near future, according to the NHK broadcaster.

At the moment, the Japanese side has not yet made a decision on the possible size and timing of delivery in the event of an escalation of the conflict.

For Japan, this is an unusual response to the fact that the US administration asked to secure energy resources in Europe. Government sources said the government decided to support Europe by seeking cooperation with energy companies interested in liquefied natural gas etc., after receiving enough electricity to sustainably meet local needs.
