The UAE-Romania Joint Committee holds its third meeting in Bucharest

Bucharest, April 26 / WAM / Today, the third ministerial meeting of the joint committee between the UAE and the Republic of Romania was held in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, in the Palace of the Romanian Parliament in the capital, Bucharest, in the presence of His Excellency Marcel Ciulacu, Prime Minister of Romania, and His Excellency Maryam bint Mohammed Al Muhairi, Head of the International Affairs Office. In the presidential office, which led the UAE delegation to the meeting, His Excellency Sorin Grindeanu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, head of the Romanian side in the committee.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister of Romania welcomed Her Excellency Maryam Al Muhairi and the accompanying delegation, praising the distinguished relations between the UAE and Romania, which are witnessing remarkable growth in various economic, trade and investment fields.

He pointed out that the UAE is considered a major and important partner for Romania in the region, and they have strong and established relations in various fields, pointing to the interest and keenness of the leadership of the two countries in recent years to strengthen bilateral relations in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly peoples.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Al Ali, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Romania, and a number of senior officials in UAE government agencies, as well as representatives of the private sector, business community, institutions and companies from both sides.

The meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation in vital sectors important to both countries, especially tourism, education and scientific research, health, industry, small and medium enterprises, renewable energy, civil aviation, agriculture and food security.

The meeting discussed investment cooperation and the opportunities offered by the Romanian market to financial funds, companies, institutions and the Emirati business community, in addition to the investment facilities and incentives offered by the Romanian government in light of its invitation to Emirati companies and funds to invest in companies and projects that it intends to privatize.

For her part, Her Excellency Maryam Al Muhairi praised the strength of bilateral relations and the depth of the partnership between the UAE and Romania in many fields in implementation of the forward-looking vision of the wise leadership that is built on trust and the foundations of long-term bilateral cooperation.

Her Excellency stressed that developing trade exchange and building strong partnerships constitutes an addition to all parties and achieves mutual benefit at all levels, pointing to the distinguished relations between the two countries and the many investment opportunities available in various sectors, especially small and medium enterprises.

Al Muhairi said that these meetings are an opportunity for Emirati business owners and investors to explore the investment climate and new opportunities in the sectors of trade and investment, energy, renewable energy, technology and artificial intelligence, agriculture, transportation and logistics services, small and medium enterprises, tourism, knowledge exchange, and cybersecurity.

She added that one of the committee’s priorities and goals is to develop a set of meaningful and applicable initiatives and partnerships, which we will continue to follow up on after the end of the work of this meeting to stimulate joint work, overcome challenges, and ensure that the committee’s outputs are translated into partnerships, projects, and tangible results on the ground, in the interest of the two countries and the two peoples. The two friends.

At the conclusion of the third session of the Emirati-Romanian Joint Committee, His Excellency Al Muhairi and His Excellency Sorin Grindeanu witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the UAE and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Romania, signed by His Excellency Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary General of the Federation, and on the Romanian side, His Excellency Bogdan Visan, Attorney General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.

During a dinner hosted by His Excellency Ambassador Sultan Mohammed Al Ali at the headquarters of the UAE Embassy, ​​Her Excellency Maryam Al Muhairi met with Emirati business owners and investors participating in the Joint Committee meetings and reviewed with them their current investment projects and new and future investment opportunities.
